|Our 7th studio album "March of Ghosts" will be available on Kscope from 27th February 2012|
"March Of Ghosts" is the band's follow-up to "Missa Atropos", which was released on Kscope in 2011 along with the live album, "London".
While "Missa Atropos" was a long story about one person leaving everything behind, "March of Ghosts" is a collection of short stories.
The idea was to have the lead character spend a night where all these ghosts (dead and alive) would march past him to tell their stories. Characters include Haitian war criminals, the crew of the Marie Celeste, a returning American WWI soldier who finds himself in 2012 and the ghost of an English comedy writer who was wrongly accused of treason.
They are short stories. They are a march of ghosts. They are tales that need to be told. And these tales can be heard from February 27th 2012.

Wishing you a merry christmas
Gazpacho's christmas present this year is that we have new friends! We are proud to announce that we have licensed Missa Atropos to K-Scope in the UK. They will have the rights to this album worldwide (apart from Germany, Austria and Switzerland). We will be in amongst bands such as Porcupine Tree, Anathema, Blackfield to mention a few... perfect fit for Gazpacho staying true to the term: different music. We believe they understand who our fans are and understand how to reach out to them.
Missa Atropos temporarily unavailable as a download
After a few months of digital availability, Missa Atropos has temporarliy been "taken off" as we are in the process of licensing out this album to various record companies. These companies will now handle digital distribution and you should see the album available very soon. All other albums are still available as usual.

After tick tock we sat down and asked ourselves what excited us and after months of pondering this question we had a grand and brilliant idea.
How would a mass for Atropos sound?
In greek mythology, Atropos was one of the three Moirae, goddesses of fate and destiny. Atropos was the oldest of the Three Fates, and was known as the "inflexible" or "inevitable". It was Atropos who chose the mechanism of death and ended the life of each mortal by cutting their thread with her "abhorred shears".
To find out what a mass would be like, we envisaged a story of a man who cuts all ties to the world and moves to a lighthouse to write a mass for Atropos and to taste true solitude. The title is also a wordplay on misanthropy which I suppose plays a part in the concept as well.
The album tells the story of what happens inside his head and includes three of his attempts to write the mass as well as the final Missa Atropos.
It is intended to be another album in the series of films without pictures that we started back in 2007 with "Night". In other words a concept album intended to give the listener a chance to take some time off from the world.
We expect widespread distribution from the middle of september. Official release date will be 26th November 2010.
We are working around the clock now to make the album available for one night only at the "night of the prog festival" 3rd September.

A message from Jon-Arne
My firstborn daughter arrived on the 6th august, as a result I will be taking some time off from performing the concerts planned for this autumn to prioritise the newborn family. I have instead focussed on finishing the new album "Missa Atropos" during the summer, which i am confident is going to be the best album yet. For the German/Italian festival + Polish gigs in September, we have hired a stand-in guitarist by the name of Micheal Krumins (Green Carnation, Sirenia). Not only is he an outstanding guitarist, but I hear rumours of added "flavour" to the gazpacho shows. You can see a taste of his musicianship at his myspace page. I'll see you again on the next European tour scheduled for the beginning of 2011 in connection with the new album. really looking forward to showing you the new stuff! As for now... off to change some nappies...:-) X
While we're writing the new album
We're busy putting together all the tracks, editing, cutting, rewriting as what looks like it's going to be our best album indeed (we always work towards that thought). So, to keep you entertained this summer in anticipation of our new album, we've uploaded nearly all our footage from the limited edition DVD "A night at loreley".
Follow our channel at our > official gazpacho video channel. This DVD is no longer available (from us at least), but at least you get to enjoy most of the concert on youtube. Have a happy summer. It's going to be an exciting one!
Poland concerts postponed
Due to the recent tragedy in Poland with the corresponding 1 week of mourning, the polish promoter has decided to cancel the current concerts in Poland from 16-18 April. These dates are postponed until September 2010. Go to our tour page for details. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the Polish people through this terrible tragedy.
On the road
Half way through this tour, we’d like to thank everyone for coming to see us. We even heard of people driving for 6 hours to see the concert, a warm thanks to you! Reviews can be read here here (english) and here here (Dutch). There's also a lot of youtube footage is out there. A special mention for this channel as it seems most of the concert was uploaded in Switzerland .
New merchandise can be bought at the concerts where our everexpanding clothes range should fit all tastes. Further to the list of concerts, we are pleased to inform you that we will also be participating at this years “Night of the prog” in Loreley, Germany from the 3 sept – 4 sept 2010. Go to Wiv Entertainment for more information. Furthermore, we are looking to perform a concert at John Dee (Oslo/Norway) sometime in mid-September as well. Keep following our website for updates.
Right, Poland next. We’re all really looking forward to it.
We are touched by seeing the response of our music out there!
“Tick Tock” was voted album of the first half-year 2009’ on Progrock-dt , Tick Tock was voted to be the second best album for all of 2009. Polls with DPRP showed “Tick tock” landing in at 5th place. Results here. New this year is that we’ve also been mentioned in best tracks (The walk/ Tick tock on 6th and 7th), Best artwork (5th place), best concert (5th place). The Progwereld audience voted in large numbers, and guess what – we came in first! . Last but not least, Poland seems to be catching on to gazpacho, where gazpacho came in second at Rock Area as well as ranked 36 on national polish radio. We throw hugs and thank you’s across the ocean to all our fans! Hope to see you on tour!
Back catalogue available at Galileo records
You can now get all of our albums for the price of €21 (incl. shipping) at Galileo records.
A small update from the inside: We're currently putting together songs for a new album, currently over 60 minutes of music - but still far too early to promise a launch date as there's still alot to be done: re-recording, editing, mixing, production, guest orchestras, choirs to arrange...:-) But we can assure you the style of music is definitely in the vain of gazpacho, perhaps our masterpiece (but that's what we always struggle for in every album)..:-) Still too early to tell - the finished product always differs from the early "demo" stages. We MIGHT try out a track live during the tour, but we will at least try out songs never performed live. See you on tour!

While we're working
Editing of the new DVD is in progress and we hope to have this out to you before Christmas, just incase you were wondering what you were going to get your friends as gifts this year..:-) In the meantime, here's some footage from the tour (special thanks to John Vis). We'll be cooped up at our basecamps busy sketching and working through what could be our next album in 2010. All we can report is that many of the demo's are looking very promising.
On top of a mountain!
Thanks to everyone for a fantastic day at Loreley, overwhelmed by the response! I guess we could say it was one of the most spectacular gigs we've had, and everything was caught on film! So now we're back in the dungeons going through the process of editing, mixing and producing our first ever DVD. We hope to have this to you throughout the autumn. In the meantime, try for some amateur footage at you tube (there are lots more if you search). Some outstanding photography can be found here and here

A chance at the charts?
With the release of tick tock in Germany on the 27th March, we are observing people are starting to reserve tick tock and we're moving up the charts (before sales begin!). If you're not able to come to a gig during the tour, or wanting to get hold of it before we visit your town (please note: some shows start before start of sale at amazon and we will have the album at the merchandise stall), we'd like to encourage you to order the album from Amazon.de in an attempt to get further up the charts!
Tick Tock CD update

So, come and visit the merchandise stall to secure the first copies!
First reviews are coming in, and it looks very postive! We've observed one in Dutch, German and Spanish, and for those non-multilingual people some reviews in English as well. We're also hearing rumours of "CD of the month" in various larger German magazines!
Please note that Reggio Emilia has been cancelled. All other gigs are going ahead as planned. Go to Wiv Entertainment for ticket bookings.
Tick Tock Update
Tick Tock is scheduled to be released in Germany March 27th 2009 and one week earlier in countries with mail order. We also expect it to be available on Itunes and online options before. Our fifth studio album, titled Tick Tock, is scheduled to be released in March 2009. The album will be released by HWT-records, a division of Sony BMG.
1. Desert Flight (7:39)
2. The Walk (13:41)
3. Tick Tock (22:24)
4. Winter is never (4:55)
Now, who said we weren't radio friendly? (Although we can expect a radio edit of Winter is Never).
Here's a little story about the album: December 29, 1935 Antoine de Saint-Exupery took off in an attempt at a long distance flight from Paris to Saigon. He crashed in the Desert many hours later stranded with his co pilot Prevot. Later he recounted his experience in a book called Wind, Sand and Stars and this story forms the basis of the Tick Tock album. After Night the monotonus repetition of a single bar of music that is changed by the chords and the songs on top of it still held a seductive charm for Gazpacho and though Night dabbled in this, Tick Tock wallows.
The metaphor of a desert walk represented by a ticking clock may not be sublime but by golly the music is in moments.
Almost as if you were walking a long and lonely walk in the desert where there is only you, the stars, wind and sand, the sound of your footsteps softened by the burning sand and heard only through the bones of the body.
Interview with Gazpacho
Danny from prog-nose (Belgium) met up with Gazpacho during The Night of the Prog (The Loreley Festival) and had a spontaneous interview with them. Go here to catch up on the gossip! You can also read about the last gig we had at W2 in the Dutch press here

As of October 1st, 2008 we have teamed up with new management and booking agency: WiV Entertainment. Our goal is to be able to be more on the road with our new release (which we intend to have by the spring 2009). To all of you out there who have been supporting us, we'd like to intensify contact even more now and need helping hands (remember, we don't have a corporation behind us, it's just us!). Now, with the help of WiV Entertainment, we hope to build the buzz through streetteams and fanclubs to spread the word about our music. Those of you who have the time and passion to support us and join the "gazpacho army" by e.g flyer handouts, postering, webposting plus all "word of mouth" promotion is very welcome to do so and should get in contact with gazpacho street team to find out how you can help!
Now, the pay isn't good (infact there's no money in it!), but for all your help and support we hope to compensate you with goodies like Special Edition CD´s, Shirts, Tickets, Bandmeetings etc.. maybe even having a gig in your living room, who knows?

There may be a few other places we're visiting in and around this area, so watch this space!

What beautiful Night(s)!
Back from Holland after two very successful (and fun!) evenings. It was wonderful to meet up with everyone again, and be able to showcase 'Night' live. Your response has been utterly overwhelming, we managed to sell out the pre-stock of 500 'Night' CD's during the weekend! Pictures will be coming in as we go along in the next few weeks, but here are some links we managed to gather throughout the days we've been back. Zoetemeer and the Marillion weekend courtesy of Nick Askew. Also, Bert Treep's site where we went through an in depth interview (TBA), and Willemklopper's site to mention some wonderful photographers.
Reviews of 'Night' are starting to pop in already, DPRP's roundtable review providing fantastic indepth english reviews by 3 individuals at DPRP, the trusted Progwereld (Dutch), as well as Baby Blueseiten (German) and Hardsounds (Italian). We hope this gives you something to enjoy while you're waiting for the upcoming launch of 'Night'! (which should be during the WEEK starting monday!)

Free live tracks for downloading!
Christmas came early this year..:-) Something to keep you entertained this autumn while we continue to work on our 4th album, we're giving away a bag of mp3's for nothing! The following tracks Substitute for Murder, Bravo, The Secret, Vulture, Sea of Tranquility and Orion I & II* (*only for soupkitchen members) were recorded in Elysee Montmatre, Paris November 2005. The recordings are of varying quality (they were recorded onto our bass player's mini disc) but you'll definitely get the vibe of the concert. Rip them onto a CD, share them out with friends, whatever really. Go to our music page and scroll down the page to start downloading! Happy listening!
Visit this link. Taken in June, partly to prove that we are actually alive and well, and to keep you involved in what we're doing! This trip proved creative, as we managed to get 10-12 minutes extra music laid down for our song which you may have started hearing rumours about... Writing in a cabin is a first for us, as we've always been in the studio (dungeon) to write, but wanted new inspiration (& partly due to the heat wave) to compose at Thomas' cabin outside Oslo. The wonders of technology, gives the chance of being mobile. You may notice in these pictures that it's not all doom and gloom..:-) Happy viewing!
We're alive! and working hard...
Album's coming along just nicely, and we're working very hard in the studio. Partly written together at Thomas' cabin this summer and partly written in the studio, we've been very mobile and creative in the process (pictures will come soon!). During that time, and for those of you who are a little impatient, we had an interview with Josh Turner in June which you should find here Happy reading!
Firebird gets awards!.
Perhaps not the grammies, but nevertheless, the people have spoken: DPRP's annual poll shows Firebird at 21st place for "Album of 2005", Progwereld have now had Firebird in the top 10 for over 6 months (!), 9th place in "Metal Italia", and the Rogues Gallery gave it the second best album for 2005! It also remained in the top 10 throughout the whole autumn of 2005 at Just For Kicks as well as honourable mentions in various sites and magazines. So, I guess we're doing something right... 2006 is showing promise...
We're back in the dungeons again as we set off towards writing the 4th studio album. If you want to read on it's progress, read the details on our blogspace. Hope to keep you updated as we go along and thanks for your votes...:-)

DVD+R "Bootleg" copies European tour 2004
We're hoping to cross the pond later this year to gig at some venues. This costs us quite a bit of money, so to help support it, for a limited period of time (until 31 October) we're offering copies of the bands' personal video camera recordings from the European tour in 2004. Don't expect "Hollywood quality" at only €8 a piece (including postage and packaging), but could prove to be nice to have for collectors..:-)

BUY Firebird here!
It's finally here! Exciting times for the band as we are now launching this through Intact Records! We hope you listen to it loud on your system from start to finish (over a glass or bottle of wine or anything else that takes your fancy) and then over and over again..:-)
Some highlights: The tension filled opener 'Vulture', the over 8 minute epic 'Orion', and also appearing on Firebird's "Do you Know What You Are Saying", Marillion's guitar legend Steve Rothery contributes with stunning melodic guitars, enigmatic 'Jezebel', challenging 'Firebird', orchestral 'Once in a lifetime'... every song on this album has that little special story to tell...
